Teaches students how to become a U.S. citizen, about U.S. history and government, and provide preparation for the citizenship interview and test. Citizenship class is a six to seven-week course to prepare you for your citizenship interview. We complete your application together. Students learn all materials for the civics, writing and reading sections. You will practice the entire interview many times before you go for your appointment!
The course includes six seminars.
1. The voting process, from registration to voting on election day.
2. Local government structure and contact information.
3. Public safety.
4. Public school services and parental rights.
5. American holidays.
6. Local social services.
To be eligible, an applicant must be at least 18 years old and a lawfully admitted permanent US resident.
